What Are Project Usage Limits and How to Manage Them in YourGPT?
Set and control resource limits for each project including credits, documents, webpages, and voice.

The Project Usage Limits section lets the Organisation Owner set usage caps on different resources within each project. These limits help manage consumption, prevent overuse.

This feature is particularly useful for organisations managing multiple AI projects under a single YourGPT account. It ensures each project stays within its allocated usage budget—whether it’s credits, documents, webpages, or voice processing.

Who Can Access This?

Only the Organisation Owner can view and modify Project Usage Limits.
If you are only a Project Owner, this section will not appear in your dashboard.

This restriction ensures that only top-level administrators can manage resource allocation across projects. Project Owners can view usage from billing within their own project but cannot enforce limits.

Where to Find the Project Usage Limits

  1. From the Account on the right top, then click on settings.

    account-settings
  2. In your left-hand menu and click Project Limits under the Organization Setting.

  3. A dropdown menu titled Select a project… will appear.

  4. Choose the project you want to set limits for.

Until a project is selected, the rest of the settings will remain inactive.

How to Set Usage Limits

Once you’ve selected a project, you can configure usage limits for that project by following these steps:

Step 1: Select a Limit Type

You’ll see a dropdown under Project Usage Limits. This lets you pick which resource you want to limit. Available options include:

  • Credits – The total AI usage credits (token-based) allocated to the project.

  • Documents – The number of documents that can be uploaded and processed.

  • Webpages – The number of webpages allowed for ingestion.

  • Voice Credits – The voice generation credits available for speech output.

You can select and configure one or more limit types per project.

Step 2: Set the Usage Cap

After selecting the limit type, you’ll see an input or slider interface to set the actual limit.

  • You can type in a numeric value directly or use the slider.

  • The system will show current usage versus the limit you’re about to set (like in below image., Used: 0 / Set limit: 12.6M).

  • To remove a limit, click the trash icon next to the specific type.

You can also add multiple limits by clicking the Add Limit button and repeating the process for each resource type.

Step 3: Save the Changes

After setting all desired limits, click the Save Changes button at the bottom of the form.

Until you do so, your inputs will not take effect.

Example Use Cases

  • You want to limit the Virtual Try On project to 10M credits and 200 webpages so it doesn’t exceed the team’s budget.

  • You’re testing a new AI assistant and want to cap document ingestion to 50 files to avoid overtraining.

  • You want to allocate voice credits only to selected projects to manage audio usage.

Notes and Best Practices

  • These settings can be updated at any time, but only by the Organisation Owner.

  • Project Owners cannot see or change limits—they only see their project usage.

  • Monitor ongoing usage in the Billing & Usage section to make informed updates.

  • If no limits are set, the project can use resources up to the total quota available to the organisation.

  • Limits help enforce internal policies and prevent cost overruns—especially important when different teams are working on separate AI workflows.

Troubleshooting

The Project Limits section is missing. Why?
You may not be the Organisation Owner. Only Organisation Owners can access this feature.

Changes aren’t saving.
Make sure you’ve selected a project and set at least one valid limit before clicking "Save Changes".

Set limit exceeded error?
The project has used more than the allowed quota. Either increase the limit or wait for the usage to reset (if applicable).
